More focus on the importance of the conversations in the organizations
Even though it is old news for many managers, the importance of rule number one of Shaw and Stacey is being brought to our attention again. In conversations with some managers in Norway, the thing that stands out from earlier is: The importance of the conversations in the organization. The importance of the managers relational, soft skills as listening, understanding, caring and being there for the collegues - enacting on even the most informal conversations. In turbulent times where media talks, and gets everyone talking- about unemployment and "risks of losing your job"- people are worried. Individuals now need managers who can calm down the situation, be present, open and honest. The complexity of the situations needs steady managers who can act upon a new reality/knowledge and have daily strategic meetings, where inclusion is key. The rate of change has accelerated, and we need resolutness as well as the safety-feeling under the wings of the leader. Kethan Lakani once said: "A leader is someone you would follow wherever you wouldn´t go alone."
